The pandemic created barriers for customers to physically visit the bank and for the bank to manage increased service demand with limited on-site staff. Trustbank Amanah's previous approach of using online PDF forms for registration proved inadequate.
Apptastic's partnership with Trustbank Amanah led to the creation of a digital client onboarding tool, designed with a mobile-first approach. This tool was meticulously crafted to be super user-friendly, catering to audiences with small devices and considering the needs of elderly users with larger, readable text. The solution is optimized for areas with lower internet speeds, like the interior of Suriname, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all users.
The digital onboarding initiative was designed to simplify banking processes, making them more accessible in the digital era. With the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this tool allowed customers to bypass physical lines, enabling complete online onboarding within a mobile experience. This innovation not only enhanced customer convenience but also aligned with UN SDG 10, aiming to reduce inequality by providing banking access to anyone with a mobile device and internet connection.
The project also included a comprehensive dashboard for bank personnel. This dashboard is instrumental in tracking and managing customer requests, including a detailed audit log to monitor changes. The dashboard's design ensures that the backoffice can handle requests efficiently, further enhancing the overall effectiveness of the digital onboarding process.
Since its launch, the digital onboarding tool has significantly improved banking accessibility, particularly for remote and underserved communities. The tool's success is evident in its ability to handle a variety of banking requests efficiently, demonstrating Trustbank Amanah's commitment to digital transformation and financial inclusion.
